The different posts for which IBPS has published notification in year 2016 are

  • Agriculture field officer scale 1
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari scale 1
  • Law Officer scale 1
  • HR/Personnel Officer scale 1
  • Marketing Officer scale 1

Important dates related to year 2016 IBPS Specialist Officer exams are

  • You can register online from 23rd Nov 2015 to 10th Dec 2015
  • You can pay application fees online from 23rd Nov 2015 to 10th Dec 2015
  • You can download examination call letter after 19th Jan 2016
  • Online written test will be scheduled on 30th Jan 2016 and 31st Jan 2016
  • Declaration of results for online written test will be done in February month
  • Call letters for interview can be downloaded in months of Feb end or March starting
  • Interview will be conducted in month of March
  • Provisional allotment will be done in the month of April

The validity of IBPS Specialist Officer 2016 will expire by 31st March 2017.You should not wait for last date as so many candidates are applying you will face slow website issues.So it is good to apply as early as you can.

Educational qualification for IT officer

BE or BTECH or Post Graduate degree in any one of the steams like Computer Science,Computer Applications,Information technology,Electronics,Electronics and Telecommunications,Electronics and Communication,Electronics and Instrumentation.You can also apply for this post if you have passed DOEACC B level and have Graduate degree.

Educational qualification for Agricultural field officer

Four year degree (graduation) in any one of the mentioned disciplines Agriculture,Horticulture,Animal husbandry,veterinary science,dairy science,agri engineering,fishery science,pisciculture,Agri marketing or co-operation ,co-operation and banking or Agro forestry.

Educational qualification for Rajbhasha Adhikari

Post Graduate degree in Hindi with English as a subject in Graduation level or Post Graduate degree in Sanskrit with Hindi and English as a subject in Graduation level.

Educational qualification for Law Officer

Bachelor degree in Law and enrolled as an Advocate in Bar council.

Educational qualification for HR/Personnel Officer

Full time post graduate degree or diploma in any one of the streams Personnel Management,Industrial Relationship,HR,HRD,Social work or Labour law.

Educational qualification for Marketing Officer

Full time MMS (marketing) or MBA (marketing) or full time 2 year PGDBA or PGDBM with specialization in marketing are eligible for this post.

In case of dual specialization one of the fields of specialization should be in above mentioned one.In case of major and minor specialization major should be in above ones.Candidates with PG degree and diploma in more than two specializations are not eligible for the posts.

For posts other than IT officer candidates should have certificate or diploma or degree in computer operations or language or should have studied computer in higher secondary or school or college.All the educational qualifications are on date of 10th December 2015.You should convert your marks or CGPA into percentage and then mention it in IBPS specialist officer application form.

Age limit for all posts

For all the posts mentioned above candidate should be more than 20 years of age but less than 30 years of age that is candidate should be born not earlier than 2nd November 1985 or later than 1st November 1995.The above age limit is for General candidate.For reserved candidate the age limit is relax-able (For OBC 3 years for SC ST 5 years)

IBPS Specialist Officer written test format

IBPS Specialist Officer written test format is different for different posts.Below is the format for each posts.Understanding written test format is very important for preparation of exams.

Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari

The format of written test for these two posts are

  • Reasoning – 50 marks
  • English language – 25 marks
  • General Awareness with special reference to banking industry – 50 marks
  • Professional Knowledge – 75 marks

Other posts

The format of written test for posts other than Law officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari are

  • Reasoning – 50 marks
  • English language – 25 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude – 50 marks
  • Professional Knowledge – 75 marks

The total time for written exam for all the posts is 120 minutes.There is also negative marking in this exam as well.It is worth mentioning that you can apply for only one post.If you apply for more than one post then your candidature will be cancelled.

IBPS Specialist Officer preparation tips

As you can see above this year more focus is on Professional Knowledge section.It has the highest marks of all the sections.Note there will be sectional cutoff so you have to clear every section.Doing good in professional knowledge section will improve you chances of making at top.

Written test marks are very important for selection.This year English section has less marks.This will be good news to non English background students.Reasoning and Quantitative have retained their place.But for Law Officer and Rajbhasha adhikari officer exams instead of Quantitative you have General Awareness with special reference to banking industry.
