The Reserve Bank of India Services (Board) has invited application for the post of RBI Grade B. RBI Grade B is great career option for every Graduate. RBI is leading Financial organization in India. In each of the above mentioned category, the number of vacancy is segregated among different categories viz OBC,GEN, SC & STs. However candidates belonging to OBC category- Creamy layer will not get any benefit of reserved categories and they will be treated at par with General Category.

Out of the 145 vacancies given above, certain positions are reserved for Visually Impaired & Hearing impaired applicant. PWD candidates may apply for the posts as per their eligibility (details about the eligibility of PWD candidates are clearly mentioned in the notification.

RBI Grade B remuneration

Pay scale – Candidates will draw basic pay of Rs.35,150 P.M/- in the pay band up till 62400, apart from above they will be eligible for DA,HRA, Grade allowance, family allowance .Initially gross salary will be  Rs.67,933/-

Kindly note if any candidate possesses higher qualification/ experience which will add value to the organization and if the same is mentioned in the Resume by the candidates and same is brought to the notice of the panel member at interview stage then increment upto four increment levels will be given on advance basis.( The same will be awarded  subject to approval by the Board/Bank).

Meritorious candidate with good experience in the field of banking can explore this great opportunity as they will be compensated in line with their experience & Knowledge. Such request will not be entertained post interview stage.

Seniority:

Candidates selected for these stream under this recruitment process will join the Common seniority Group and the seniority among these officers will be fixed according to percentile score of aggregate marks in the entire selection process.

Perquisites

Apart from the pay scales mentioned above, Bank will also provide  newspaper, telephone charges, book grant, allowance for furnishing residence, etc as per eligibility Lave fare concession, loans & advances at concessional rate, Festival advance ( at zero rate of interest), the selected candidates will be governed by New pension scheme in addition will be eligible for gratuity.

At some of the limited centres residential  quarter will be available, however employees are eligible for leased accommodation at all the centres.

Selected candidates needs to serve probationary service for period of 2 years. At the discretionary of bank they may extend the probationary period upto maximum period of 4 years.

Selected candidates may be posted and transferred anywhere in India.

RBI Grade B eligibility criteria

Age Limits :

Details about age Criteria as mentioned below:

  • Candidate must have attained age of 21 years and maximum age limit is 30 years as on 01.05.2017. i,e He/she must not have born before 2nd may 2017 and not later 01.05.1996.
  • There is relaxation in age limit for M.phil and Ph.d candidates for whom the upper age limit is 32 years and 34 years respectively.
  • Upto 3 years of relaxation is given for OBC candidates who are eligible for reservation if such seats are reserved for them.
  • Upto 5 years of relaxtion is given to candidates belonging to certain category viz – domiciled  in state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989, ex servicemen ( fulfilling certain criteria) etc.
  • Upto 10 years of relaxation for person with disabilities
  • For candidates having experience in commercial Bank/Financial institutions in Public sector as also ex employee of Reserve Bank of India, age relaxation  Up to 3 years will be given , considering each completed years of service. Probationary period will not be considered for such calculation. For such  candidates the maximum age limit for appearing in the exam is 33 years.
  • For candidates applying for the post of Grade B (DR) DEPR/ DSIM candidates having master degree with  Teaching/ research  experience at recognised Indian/ foreign University will get  relaxation maximum up to 3 years. Each completed years of service will be considered for calculation of such relaxation.
  • Candidates are advised to go through the notification thoroughly to  get clarity about definition of  Ex servicemen,  physically disabled .( Physically disabled candidates to fulfil the medical standards to get the benefits earmarked for such category of applicant).

Minimum Educational qualification  :

For officers  in Grade B ( general) the Minimum qualifying marks is 60% marks or equivalent in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or equivalent) and 10 th standard  examination . There is relaxation of 10 % marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

For officers in grade B( DR)-DEPR ,minimum qualification required is master degree in Economics/Econometric, finance with minimum 55% marks  or equivalent grade from Indian / Foreign  university .

For SC/ST and PWD candidates there is relaxation of 5 % of Marks.

Doctorate degree in economics/ research / teaching experience in Economics or publication in standard Magazine  would be considered as additional qualification and such candidates may get preference.

Officers in Grade B (DR) DSIM – Must have master degree with minimum percentage of 55% of marks in statistics, Mathematical statistics/ econometrics/ statistics & informatics from IIT BOMBAY & IIT kharagpur with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Master Degree in Mathematics with minimum 55% marks  or equivalent grade  , one year diploma in statistics or related subject from institute of repute.

Master degree of Indian Statistical Institute with minimum 55% marks / PGDBA  course offered jointly offered by ISI Kolkata ,IIT kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade

For SC/ST/ PWD candidates  5% relaxation in marks is allowed. Candidates with a Doctorate in topics related to above mentioned subjects will be given preference. Research or teaching experience or publication will be given preference.

Some universities allot grade points instead of numbers or percentage. Incase if the university institutes have their own conversion methodology of converting the  score into percentage the same will be accepted or else the conversion methods as specified by the RBI in their notification has to be followed.

Number of Attempts

Candidates belonging to unreserved  category i.e General candidates  who  have appeared for six times already for phase I of the examination  for this post in the past are not eligible to apply, however no such restrictions are there for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD candidates if seats are reserved for them.

RBI Grade B selection process

The selection procedure comprises of three stages

  • Phase I examination
  • Phase II examination
  • Interview.

Phase I & Phase II examination will be done through Online examination. The bank has given detailed list of the centres for  phase I & Phase II  examinations.  Candidates  will be  allotted centres for examinations on first come first serve basis.

Once the number of seats for a particular is filled up, then that center will be frozen and candidate will be  allotted some other centre.Bank has decided  separate list for centres for interview purpose, which will be notified in interview call letter.

RBI Grade B Aplication details

Application Fees

For SC/ST/ PWD candidates only  intimation of charge of Rs.100/- is applicable , for general and OBC candidates Rs.850/-  comprising of Application fee and intimation charges is applicable. For Staff of RBI no charges  are  applicable.

Application criteria:

Candidates are required to apply online, no other ,means of application will be accepted. Only one application is to be submitted by the candidate. In case if he/ she submits multiple application, then the application which is complete with higher registration ID will be accepted , application fee for one application will not be adjusted with the other.

Government service employees or other similar organisations, or in private employment should submit in their application that they have intimated to their head of the department or office about the fact that they are applying for the examination . In case if any communication is received at RBI regarding withholding the candidature of the applicant fron his/her present employees the application will stand cancelled. At the time of joining recommended candidates will  have to bring proper discharge certificates from their PSUs/ Government/ Quasi Government  organisation.

RBI Grade B important points

Candidates applying under OBC category, must have certificate for the same issued on or after 01.05.2016. Candidates are not required to submit any documents at  the time of application , but such documents  must be produced at the time of Interview. If at the time of verification during the process of Interview it is found that candidates do not fulfill the criteria, their candidature will stand cancelled.

Candidates to carry proof of Identity both original and photocopies ( 2/ 3 copies ) at the time of phase I & phase II examination. They are required to submit  photocopy of ID proof along with  admit card for each shift  of  Examination.

In case if the candidate has changed their name due to marriage or  other reason must produce original gazette notification/ marriage certificate  and other relevant document along with photocopy at the time of examination

Admit card will be available in the website of RBI two weeks prior to the date of examination. Admit card will not be sent by any other mode. Candidates to check their admit card , in case if any discrepancy is found same should be brought to the notice of authority.

While applying, candidates to keep scanned photo & scanned signature ready.

They should keep all documents ready with them so that correct data is entered by them in the application.Name, place  etc to be spelt correctly , candidates to mention correct Email id & phone number in application , as that will remain the main medium of communication.

RBI has given detailed procedure in their official notification  regarding how to apply through the official portal , candidates to take serious note of the procedural formalities and avoid careless errors.

Payment of application fee can be done through  debit card/ credit card/ IMPS/ wallet/ internet banking , almost all modes of alternate delivery channels.  After successful payment of requisite fee an E receipt will generate, in case if E receipt is not generated  then there is failure of payment.  The bank has provided with provision to take print out of application with payment details ( after payment of fees) till 26.05.2017.

Bank has also specified in clear and lucid manner the procedure to scan and upload signature & scanned photography , which should be given due care while applying.

RBI has clearly specified about the syllabus in detailed manner for each of the post for which notification has been issued, procedure and pattern of examination is also categorically mentioned for each  vacancies.

Candidates are advised to go through the syllabus as per their eligibility and prepare in line with the syllabus to score high in the examination.Patience, confidence and focus is key to success , do not panic, stay focused and bell the exam called RBI Grade B !
