RBI Grade B exam overview

In the present article we will be discussing about selection procedure of the examination and how to crack the examination successfully.The examination comprises of two phase of written tests and interview .
RBI Grade B Exam phase 1
This will comprise of objective questions of single paper of 200 marks and date of examination will be June 17,2017. The paper will comprise of four sections :
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Awareness
Composite time limit for the examination is 120 minutes ( 2 hours), there will sectional cut off marks for each of the sections and as well as aggregate cut off marks, candidates to score both the cut off marks to qualify for the next round.
RBI Grade B Exam Phase 2
Phase II examination will comprise of three papers, total of 300 marks with each papers for 90 minutes of duration.The qualifying marks for the next phase II will be decided by the RBI based on several preset parameters.

How to score good marks in RBI Grade B
I would advise the candidates to proceed and practice topic by topic rather than section wise, rather than focusing of section as a whole, i would say you to break the whole syllabus into multiple smaller parts i.e on each of the topics of each section and focus in detail in each section.
There is no specific guidelines for cracking the exams, everybody has their own strength and weakness and have to prepare/ approach exam accordingly , it is advised that you set your own short term and long term goal
For scoring high, in the exam, candidates to make correct choice of questions and ensure better time management.
RBI Grade B English Section Preparation
You may start with attempting the questions for phase I , from English section as this section is less time consuming , you may complete the section in 15- 20 minutes.We have uploaded one complete article as to how to improve English and prepare well for competitive exams , we request you to kindly go through the article for your better preparation.
RBI Grade B General Awareness Section Preparation
Next you may switch to General Awareness section, this section will be a deciding factor for scoring high in exam. Most of the questions will be based on Banking and awareness, there are many books, online portals and apps available for preparation of General Awareness section.

In General Awareness, out of 80 questions around 50 questions will be from economy and banking, remaining from General knowledge , sports etc.
RBI Grade B Reasoning Section Preparation
It is advised to check cut off score of each section of previous years to get an idea about the trend and planning the approach pattern for examination.Logical Reasoning paper will of moderate level of difficulty with main area of focus being blood relation, seating arrangement,coding- decoding,syllogism etc.

RBI Grade B Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation
Quantitative Aptitude is considered to be one of the most difficult section, general cut off varies between 10-15 marks , most of the questions are from data interpretation, you can avoid trigonometry, co ordinate geometry and logarithm and in pure quantitative aptitude you focus on average, allegation, ratios, Profit & Loss and Time speed & distance.

RBI Grade B Descriptive paper preparation
For the descriptive sections, focus on comprehension skills, try to read news papers, editorial,good magazines .After going through the articles , try to write the understanding in your own words.
For Finance & Management there re many good study materials available in website of ICWA, NCFM you may go through the same for better conceptual understanding , spend at least 2 hours a day for descriptive papers and try to develop basic idea of the subjects and their implication in the particular economy as because the exam will be job purpose and not a general qualifying exams of school or college , it is utmost important to develop idea keeping in mind the effect of each of the concept in the economy as a whole.
As you will given practical questions in the exam, try to interpret each and every concepts and to get better clarity , once you understand basic implications of each topic you can answer any questions in your own words and give your own examples and relate questions in lucid language .
How to plan your studies for RBI Grade B
Practice more and more to improve the speed and accuracy level. Take mock tests seriously Try to solve at least one paper daily and check your accuracy level and also the time taken to solve the paper. Once you start practicing on daily basis you will be able to improve your overall efficiency level.
Keep a stop watch beside you and check the time taken for solving reasoning and quants. Don’t get stuck up in any particular questions, if you cannot solve any question within a minute then leave it and move onto the next questions.
Make a study plan based on your strength and weakness, try to follow the plan religiously on daily basis.Divide the topic of sections on day wise basis suppose in the first week you plant to do General awareness then divide topics viz Monetary policy, concepts of money quants quizzes etc, try to achieve the target as per plan, that will improve your self confidence,once you are done with the practice as per plan sheet , the start solving maximum mock test , online quiz and previous year question papers.
Once you start following the above mentioned preparation style you will be able to gain command over both conceptual thing and as well as speed level.For general awareness, in case if you find reading articles to be boring or monotonous they you may try viewing videos on key important topics to gain knowledge, retain details for long.
Channelize your effort in right direction and crack the exam , planned preparation will help you more focused and organized. Regular practice will help you to come across array of questions, which will help you to increase your efficiency level .
Once you complete one set of Practice set, try to solve the other one with higher level of difficulty, with this you will able to solve questions of multiple level of difficulty and on the day of exam you will be able to achieve success.
