SSC Sub Inspector and ASI exam details 2017 paper

SSC Staff Selection Commission has come up with recruitment drives for the posts of Sub Inspector of Police (Delhi), CAPFs and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF positions.

The details are as follows:

Sub Inspector (Central Armed Police Forces): It is a non Gazetted and non ministerial post with pay band of Rs.35400/- to 112400/-, it is categorized as level 6 position among several hierarchical position.

Sub Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police: 

The authority encourages both Male & Female Cadre for applying for the post, it is categorised as Group C (non Gazetted) with pay scale of Rs.35400/- to Rs.112400/-.

For convenience of applicant and the authority several posts have been allotted a code, which is to be invariably mentioned in the application form by the applicant .The  codes are as follows :

A Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police

B Sub-Inspector in Border Security Force (BSF)

C Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

D Sub-Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)

E Sub-Inspector in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF)

F Sub-Inspector in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

G Assistant Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

ASI (Executive) in CISF :

No. Of Vacancies for Male is 507 and Ex servicemen (male) is 56 and for female the number of vacancies are 56.

There may be changes in the number of vacancies, which the authority will intimate through their official web site.

Candidates are advised to check the websites on regular basis for time to time updates, further they are advised to write correct E mail id and phone Numbers in their application. Most of the time the candidates intimated about several changes through E mail and SMS, so for timely receipt of information correct contact details are to be given while applying.

Out of the10% of reservation made for EX- servicemen , 50% of it will be available for  cadres who served different wings viz-NSG/Navy/Army etc

In case if sufficient number of successful/ eligible application is not available in each category of the ex servicemen, then the vacancy will be filled up by remaining application of ex servicemen.

Age limits  for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police & CAPFs and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF is 20-25 years.

Note- I: There is relaxation in the above mentioned  upper age limit for central government employees as per Government guidelines.

The above mentioned age limit is as on 01.01.2017,i.e anybody attaining age of 20 after 01.01.2017 will not be eligible for applying .

Candidate should keep in mind that as documentary evidence for age proof, the authority prefers cross verification of age as recorded in the Matriculation/ secondary examination certificate or equally relevant certificate. It is therefore requested from the candidates to take due care and attention while applying for the vacany and variance in age from the application and documents  may lead to cancellation of application.

Age relaxation is allowed for different categories of applicant viz SC/ST/OBC, Ex servicemen, Widows/ divorced women (separated as per law and did not remarry), departmental candidates etc.

The meaning and clarification regarding Ex servicemen is clearly spelt out in the notification, candidates are requested to go through the same while applying for the post.

Candidates seeking relaxation in the age must produce relevant documentary evidence viz certificates from competent authority as applicable is to be produced in a prescribed format at the time of document verification, in case of non submission of the proof in prescribed format, the relaxation sought will not be granted. Similarly candidate seeking benefits under reservation quota must submit proper proof for their belongingness to particular category .The formats of certificate is provided along with detailed notification. It must be noted that  date mentioned in the certificate must be prior to the last date of application i.e 15.05.2017, in case if such certificates are dated as 16.05.2017, the same will not be considered

Educational Qualifications :

One of the primary Criteria is candidate appearing in the examination must be graduate, apart from the same:

For the post of Sub Inspector of Police, male candidates must have valid driving license for both motor vehicle and car as on the date of physical fitness test, in case if the candidate do not possess valid driving license, he can apply for other applicable posts.

The education qualification must be acquired as on 01.01.2017,  i.e if any of the candidate apply for the  exam and completes after 02.01.2017, even then he/ she will not be  eligible for the examination .

In case of Distance Learning the commission has allowed  consideration of distance learning from several bodies viz  Institutes deemed to be universities by UGC, university established by Act of Parliament / state legislature etc.

Candidates to provide documentary evidence of that the education qualification  was  acquired on or before 01.01.2017. Incase if the candidate  is not able to provide documentary evidence, in that case  it has to prove that the qualification was acquired on or before 01.01.2017 and necessary  documents viz mark sheet/ pass certificate will be produced satisfying the same in future date

Application is to be submitted on online basis at the payment of Rs.100/- , the requisite fee of Rs.100/- can be paid both in online and offline mode. Offline mode – Through challan at any branches of SBI , online – by credit card/ debit card of any bank.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST and ex servicemen will be exempted from payment of fees, i.e from them the application is free.

Fee is not refundable in nature.

Details of centres are mentioned in the notification, candidate to select the applicable centre and mentioned the same properly in the application .Change of centre will not be applicable under any circumstances, in exceptional cases it may be considered subject to suitable documentary evidence and valid reasons. I request candidates to carefully fill appropriate centre.

The commission may cancel any centre and merge it with any other centre, if it feels so.

Scheme of Examination:

The scheme is divided into 2 parts – Part I &  Part II.

Part I will comprise of 4 sections – a. General Intelligence & Reasoning b. Quantitative Aptitude C. General Knowledge & General Awareness d. English Comprehensions. Each of these sections is of 50 marks each and duration is 2 hours. Candidates to make it a point to increase speed and again there will be negative marking at 0.25 for each of the wrong answer. Candidate to make balance between speed and accuracy to score high.

Cut off marks for qualifying to next level will be determined by the authority and they may even add one more level of examination or elimination process if they want.

Candidates must not bring electronic devices inside Examination hall, mere possession such device, if caught will be considered as “act of unfair means”. Candidates are advised to take precaution in this matter and avoid unnecessary hassle.

Candidates those who qualify Paper I, must undergo Physical test & medical tests, only those who qualify the said test will be shortlisted for appearing in paper II. For such tests, there are different standards for different features of different locality , such as height, chest( only for male candidates) and these are tested through several activity like long jump, shot put,high jump, race, eye sight.

Once a candidate qualify physical test they will shortlisted for medical examination and upon qualifying the same they have to qualify obstacle events like vertical rope, monkey crawl etc.

There are certain guidelines related to Tatoo mark in the body as well, like it should not hurt secular sentiments, specification about size is to be ensured.

Regarding Admit Card for appearing in the exams, candidates to note that  it will be directly sent through mail , no separate hard copy will be send to the candidates.

It is therefore advised to candidates to check mail on regular basis 2 weeks prior to the date of exam so that they do not fail to download it.

It is further advised to fill the application, keeping documents beside you, while you fill because any careless mistake may account for significant lose and hassle.

Part II with comprise of Examination of English Language for 200 marks, will comprise of comprehension ,sentence structure,spellings,sentence completion , phrases, grammar.
